This year, the Switchblade falls under Cabrinha's Lite series, introducing new HTD Lite materials for the first time. These materials result in significant weight reduction for improved kite performance. The traditional Dacron has been replaced with lightweight and ultra-sturdy Dacron (High Tenacity Dacron). Combined with the new, unique canopy structure, Cabrinha has not only drastically reduced weight but also improved durability and steering speed.

The canopy is made of Nano Ripstop, containing four times more squares than the usual ripstop fabric, making it considerably stiffer and more robust. This added stiffness allows the kite to respond more directly to steering input. The bridles have less stretch to provide an even more direct feel.
