The Core Badger 2 Surfboard is developed for smaller waves and strapless freestyle. With its compact shape and improved construction, this surfboard feels direct and light under your feet. Compared to the first Badger, the second version comes with a new coating, making the board about 100 grams lighter. You’ll notice the difference right away during jumps, rotations, and airstyle tricks: more control in the air and a playful feeling on the water. Within the Core lineup, it sits between the 720 and the Ripper. Less skatey than the 720, but more compact and playful than the Ripper. While the Green Room is designed for bigger swell, the Badger 2 truly excels in small to medium waves. Perfect for small wave surf and strapless freestyle in less-than-perfect conditions. A great board for beginner to intermediate strapless riders who want early planing, responsive turns, and an occasional strapless jump in their session.

The Badger 2 has a fish outline with a swallow tail, which extends the rail for extra grip in turns. This results in snappy turns and quick rail-to-rail transitions without making the board unstable. The hybrid hull combines a soft nose spine with a double concave and a subtle V in the tail. Landings feel softer, you gain stability in chop, and rail-to-rail transitions stay sharp. The flat rocker allows early planing and gives a predictable edge when bottom turning or loading up for a jump. Slightly raised grab rails provide extra grip for board-offs and when carrying the board.

In terms of construction, Core chose a waterproof XPS core with high compression strength, wrapped in fiberglass and reinforced with a Soric deck layer. This makes the board durable and resistant to dents. UD carbon strips add stiffness without adding weight. The carbon tail patch protects the tail from impacts while maintaining flex. Thanks to the unique infusion production process, the board stays thin, stiff, and lightweight, withstanding even heavy sessions without breaking easily. Practical details such as grab rails for board-offs and freestyle tricks, plus the thruster fin setup for a loose and playful feel, are great additions. With the FCS II fin system, fins can be swapped without tools, and older FCS fins still fit using a grub screw. The Badger 2 is also a Level One Verified Ecoboard, made using recycled materials and bio-resins to reduce its ecological footprint, a sustainable choice too.

This surfboard is ideal for riders who mainly kite in smaller, choppy waves or want to focus on strapless freestyle. Thanks to its compact shape, lightweight build, and playful outline, the Badger 2 is a board that responds quickly, turns smoothly, and inspires creative riding! This board comes with a rear traction pad, leash plug, and FCS II fin boxes. Note: there are no strap inserts on this board. Choose your size carefully based on your weight to ensure proper volume distribution.
