The first few metres of a foil session are often the hardest. Pushing through the water, waiting until you build enough speed and then reaching that moment when you think you have it figured out and the foilboard suddenly lifts! The Duotone Soar SLS 2027 Foilboard is built to make that phase as short as possible. Duotone designed this foilboard for riders who want precision.

First of all, the volume distribution of the board has been improved. The Soar SLS is thicker under your front foot, exactly where you need the extra flotation when starting from a standstill. You sink less deeply into the water, build speed faster and do not need to steer your kite as aggressively to get going. You will notice the biggest difference in light wind, exactly the conditions where you are most likely to choose a foil.

The outline and rail geometry have also been made more efficient. You can ride upwind more easily and hold your line better. If things do go wrong, the nose rocker combined with the larger surface area helps you recover. The board touches down, keeps gliding and allows you to regain control quickly instead of the nose immediately diving into the water. Super useful when you are still building your foil skills!

The full carbon construction keeps the board light and stiff. That stiffness gives you direct feedback, so you can feel exactly what the foil is doing underneath you. For 2027, Duotone has optimised the shape around the foil track mount. Moving the mast along the track is now smoother and more consistent, allowing you to find your balance point more precisely and return to the same setting after switching foils. Apart from that, the Soar SLS remains unchanged, and with last year's new shape and layup still feeling fresh, that is a logical choice.

With multiple footstrap inserts, you can set your stance exactly the way you want it, wider for extra stability or slightly narrower for quicker foot changes. The board is available in 3'7" and 4'2", allowing you to choose between extra manoeuvrability or a little more surface area for lighter wind days. Footstraps are not included as standard.
