Affordable and warm winter suit from Prolimit
The Prolimit Ace Steamer Freezip 5/4 is one of the most affordable winter suits in our shop. You simply get 5/4mm thickness, a warm lining and an easy entry for a price you would normally pay for a 4/3. Ideal if you want to keep kiting through autumn and winter without shopping straight in the top segment, or if you are looking for a second suit alongside your summer suit. The big advantage of this suit is the Freezip, what we call a double front zip. That zipper detaches on both sides, so the opening folds all the way open. You step straight in, without any fiddling with your shoulders. After your session you're out of it quickly again too, which saves a lot of hassle on a cold car park. Because the zip sits at the front and runs asymmetrically, you keep your freedom of movement in your neck and shoulders, and water gets less chance to get in.
Warmth is provided by the HR+ lining on the chest and back. This lining holds onto your body heat exactly where you need it most and also dries quickly, so your suit doesn't hang wet in the shed for days. The rest of the suit is made from Airflex 500+ and 350+ NaturePrene2. That material is 100% neoprene-free and made from FSC certified natural rubber, with the same stretch and insulation as regular limestone-based neoprene.
The panels of the Ace Steamer are triple glued and blind stitched (GBS). With this stitch, the needle only goes halfway through the material, so no through-holes are created and the suit stays water repellent. Every thread is finished at the end with tape. The panelling is drawn tightly onto your body, so the material doesn't overstretch and keeps its insulation.
