Wetsuit from Prolimit for winter sessions
The Flare line is there for women who do not come to watch but come to kite, and the Prolimit Flare 5/4 C-Zip Frontzip 2027 is the winter version of it. With 5/4mm thickness and a closed chest zip there is not much standing between you and a session in February. Prolimit built this wetsuit around freedom of movement, because a warm construction that locks up your shoulders does not get you a single extra minute on the water.
The outside is Down Airflex and the name is well chosen. The material feels soft and fluffy, repels water and dries fast. On the water you notice it most in the windchill: Down Airflex lets very little wind through, so those ten minutes you spend waiting for a gust with wet arms feel a lot less bitter. And afterwards you spend less time standing in the car park in a heavy, cold wetsuit.
On the inside you get Zodiac2 with Velvet Airflex. The Zodiac2 is a jacquard velvet fleece with a quick drying thermal layer underneath that pulls moisture off your skin and releases it again fast. It feels soft and slides easily over your skin when you put the suit on or take it off. The base underneath is NaturePrene2: natural rubber from FSC certified plantations, enriched with oyster shell powder. Completely neoprene free, light and stretchy.
The panels are triple glued and blind stitched. With that GBS method the needle only goes part way through the material, so no holes run all the way through and the seam keeps water out. Every thread is finished off with tape at the end. The C-zip closes low on your chest and keeps your back free of a zip, which you feel straight away when you twist your upper body. On top of that you get KED knee panels that stretch along when you bend your knees, drainholes that let water out after a crash and ankle straps that stop flushing. The wetsuit is CE certified.
