Light and stretchy 3/2 summer wetsuit from Prolimit
Sun, sea breeze and water at eighteen degrees. That is when you want as little neoprene around you as possible and as much freedom of movement as you can get. The Prolimit Fusion 3/2 Double Frontzip 2027 Wetsuit is the thinnest version in the Fusion line and feels like a light second skin. Prolimit builds it with the same materials and finishing as its thicker brothers, so for not a lot of money you get a summer wetsuit that simply lasts for years.
The material is where this wetsuit sets itself apart. NaturePrene2 contains no oil based neoprene and no limestone, but natural rubber harvested on FSC certified rubber plantations. Added to that are recycled carbon black from shredded car tyres, oyster shell powder from washed up shells and plant based soybean oil. The result is rubber that is stretchy and light and that goes easier on the water you ride in. The glue is water based Aqua Alpha, solvent free and without the chemical smell.
On the outside, the Airflex 500+ lining with Q stretch delivers stretch in every direction. The ripstop reinforcement keeps the thin material strong, so thinner does not mean more fragile here. Pull it on over your head and you feel straight away how smoothly the whole thing moves with you. On your chest and back there is a velvet warmth lining, which you appreciate most on those long summer evening sessions where the wind only really kicks in once the sun is low.
The seams are triple glued and then blind stitched, with the needle only going half way through the neoprene so no holes run all the way through. Every thread is taped off at the end for a clean, strong finish. On top of that you get the KED knee panels for protection without losing bending freedom, a YKK zip and the Free-zip double frontzip that keeps your back completely free of any zip.
