Newly redesigned high-performance big air kite from Reedin

For this second version of the Reedin HyperModel 2025 Kite, Reedin decided to reinvent the kite from scratch. The goal for this second-generation HyperModel was to design a kite specifically for high-performance big air, and without a doubt, they succeeded!

The new Reedin HyperModel is even faster, provides even better feedback at the bar, and offers the best possible vertical lift, allowing you to go higher than ever before! Kiteloops are much more predictable, and because the HyperModel is so fast, you can pull the kite around in a split second. The hang time, as with the previous version, is insane, giving you all the time you need to, for example, take off your board and spin it around for extra style points. Flown a good distance downwind? No problem, the Reedin HyperModel helps you ride upwind effortlessly, so you can quickly return to the take-off zone.

Initially, Reedin planned to release a next-level, Aluula-driven HyperModel. This new version was finalized last winter and was already on a seriously different level. At that time, Reedin came into contact with Brainchild, led by Ralf Groesel. Reedin then made the bold decision to redesign the HyperModel from scratch together with Brainchild. Starting from the beginning made it possible to address every aspect of the design that could improve the kite’s performance. The result was so promising that Reedin decided to abandon the ready-to-release Aluula kite and focus on an even better-performing big air kite, for a lower price!

The Reedin HyperModel features a unique leading edge construction called ‘PROWELD construction.’ This construction allows the kite to omit the reinforcements typically used in traditionally sewn LE’s. This new LE provides massive weight savings and even better power transfer between the different LE segments, allowing the kite to turn better than ever, perfect for those mega loops. The canopy is a mix of two different materials and is called ‘crossmixed Canopy.’ In the center of the kite, stiff Hardflyte material is used to achieve maximum lift and the best angle of attack. In the wingtips, proven Teijin 19933 is used to add a bit of softness, giving the kite a smooth feel in turns. Additionally, the new Reedin HyperModel has a pulley-free bridle, with the bridles tuned for both loft and depower. The lines themselves are stiffer, lighter, and thinner than before.

In addition to these excellent materials and features, Reedin and Brainchild have also made efforts to produce the kite in a more eco-friendly way. Digital printing technology is used, eliminating the need for solvents in production and reducing water usage by a factor of five.
